What Happens When There is Global Warming? What Happens When There is Global Warming?

Climate change was brought about as a result from human activities. These human activities cause an increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which then caused global warming. In Hong Kong, rising temperature is very noticeable compared to a decade ago. In addition, there is a difference in the weather because heavy rains are becoming more frequent compared before. In addition,it also noticeable that the nights are becoming hotter, and the cooler days are decreasing in a speedy pattern.

This has been very alarming yet there is still minimal effort in combating this environmental issue. With this, let us discuss the possible effects of global warming to the entire world.

    1. Continuous Rise in Temperature

Temperatures will continue to rise meaning there will be longer hot nights and shorter cool days. If this continues and the body has not adjusted, this can possibly lead to heat related illnesses such as heat stroke or dehydration.

    1. Heat Waves

Since the temperatures are rising, there is a possibility of having heat waves in the future. This would then cause the moisture in the soil to decrease. Hong Kong is almost made up entirely of concrete. With this, they usually get their agriculture supply from other countries. When the time comes that the other countries have drier soil and could not produce food for exportation, this may cause trouble for the special administrative region.

    1. Rising Sea Level

The sea water is already rising as we speak. In the future,if the planet continues to heat up,the ice in the polar regions will continue to melt and may cause for sea levels to greatly increase. This may cause some islands to be covered in water.

These are only some of the possible effects that may occur. Unfortunately, there are greater things that may possibly happen that could even lead to the extinction of species. If we do not act now,we will be responsible in making these catastrophic events a reality. Buildings in Hong Kong have already started becoming zero carbon. The school carbon footprint is already being considered. In ways, big or small, let us ensure the safety of our only planet.
